Syncing Firebox with Firebox Desktop

Syncing Firebox with Firebox Desktop is easy, but has several steps:

1. Create a new, or open an existing, database in Firebox Desktop

  • Use the File menu, and choose "New Firebox Database"
  • 2. Make sure your Mac and your iPhone are on the same WiFi network

  • Do not plug your iPhone into your Mac
  • Some corporate networks block BonJour, Apple's network broadcast protocol, which Firebox Desktop uses to find your iPhone
  • 3. Put Firebox on your iPhone into Desktop Sync mode

  • Tap 'Tools', then 'Desktop Sync'
  • 4. In Firebox Desktop, click the 'Sync to iPhone...' button in the database window

  • The sync dialog will open
  • 5. Enter the required information in the sync dialog

  • Select your iPhone from the list
  • Enter the security code displayed on your iPhone screen
  • Enter the password for Firebox on your iPhone. (The password for the desktop database isn't required to be the same)
  • 6. Firebox and Firebox Desktop are now in sync

  • Data is always merged between them, with the newest changes taking precedence
  • Be sure to save your Firebox Desktop database file
  • In the future, you need only double click the databse file to launch
